Hospiscare Choir Welcomes You

 Singing to support Hospiscare

Hospiscare Choir is an independent charity choir which was created in February 2015 by Brian Clifton who worked in the Income Generation Team at Searle House Hospice, Exeter, which is the base of Hospiscare. Members of the Choir are staff, nurses, doctors, volunteers and supporters of Hospiscare, old and new. The Choir has been very fortunate to have Alfie Pugh, a renowned local musician, award winning composer and teacher, as our Choir Master for the last 8 years.  However, a new dawn is beginning for us, as Alfie has moved on to new musical endeavours, providing the choir with the opportunity to find a new leader and re-invigorate our song list.

The choir sings an eclectic mix of popular songs which includes Wonderful World, I Can't Help Falling in Love, Jar of Hearts and A Little Respect. We perform at Hospiscare events and fundraisers, at Hospiscare collections and will consider singing at non-Hospiscare events for a donation to the charity. The choir makes regular donations to support Hospiscare's work in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

We do not ask prospective members to audition but it does help if you can either read music or learn through listening, feel confident learning songs off by heart or have previous experience of singing/being in a choir. We practice every Thursday in Exeter between 5.45-7.15pm and current member's subscription is £4 per week paid termly by electronic bank transfer. If you would like to join us for a taster session or for more information please contact the Choir Membership Secretary, Fran Packer at fran.choirsecretary@gmail.com
